School Shopping

Monday we spent the day doing back to school shopping!  We headed down to the Woodburn Outlet Mall to start and found a few things at the Gap outlet.  From there we headed up to the mall and hit H & M and Forever 21 and had lunch at Nordstrom Cafe.

We spent a lot of time doing this....

That would be watching and waiting for Tessa.
And we all felt like this after six hours of shopping!

We headed home for dinner (takeout) and then met the Daines family for frozen yogurt for FHE!!

Daddy Daughter Date

While I was in Minnesota Jim and the girl's had a daddy daughter date.  Cali got online and found one spot left at Ft. Stevens for Friday night so they decided to go camping.

It was the perfect way for them to celebrate Jim's birthday on Friday!

As soon as Jim got home from work they headed to the beach.  The girls had gotten all the camping stuff together and the food which included tin foil dinners and roasted corn for dinner!

For dessert the girls had made Jim a cake - his favorite from childhood- white cake with caramel frosting.

For breakfast Jim cooked up some concoction in the dutch oven - can't remember what he calls it.

They went for a bike ride around the lake and then a little fun on the beach.

They ran into someone I know from CM - she recognized Tessa and then was nice enough to take a picture of all three of them together.

Then they went exploring at Battery Russell.  There was a war re-enactment going on too.

And then some Farkle playing and hanging out around the campsite.

Fun time and lots of good memories from when we use to camp there when the kids were little.

Last Thursday I flew out to Minneapolis to attend Creative Memories Showcase.

The best part of the whole weekend was getting to spend time with my sweet friend Deb.  We truly are kindred spirits.
For had our annual trip to Hell's Kitchen for breakfast.  Shh.. don't tell anyone but we skipped out of some meetings to go to breakfast.

The lemon ricotta pancakes are to die for!
And I loved the wall graffiti.
I also got to spend some time with my downline who live all over the country.  Such wonderful women!!

Deb and I spent a little time roaming the streets of downtown Minneapolis too.  We found a few treasures - including a little hole in the wall popcorn store - I got the Chicago Mix, my favorite!  And of course we had to take our picture next to the Mary Tyler Moore statue!!

I flew home Sunday morning and was glad to get home to my girls!  (and Jim too :))

In His Spare Time

This is what Jim has been doing in his spare time - repainting the entry way and upstairs hallway.

This is no small task especially since it was a deep red - it has taken 6 gallons of primer to cover over the red!!

The new color is a pretty gray/green/taupe.  It's call Fenland from Sherwin Williams and I love it.
When I told Jim I needed a change and we either needed to move or paint he opted for the pain option!

Pour Que No

Thursday I was flying out to Minneapolis for the weekend and for Creative Memories National Showcase.  The girls drove me to the airport so we left a little so we could stop and have lunch at one of our favorite mexican restaurants.  Pour Que No on Hawthorne.

The food is delicious, the chips and salsa are excellent and best of all Cali can eat the food!  She is a bit of a challenge to feed with all her food sensitivities but we manage to do it!

We shared some chips, salsa and guacamole.

Tessa had the quesadilla.

Cali had the Brian's Bowl - chicken, rice, beans - no cheese!

And I had the carnitas tacos.

Had to get some more fun time in with my girls before I left town.  I was sad to be leaving while they were here but they had some fun planned with their dad while I was gone!!
