Happy Fourth!

In addition to Grandma and Grandpa and the Osbornes we had invited our other cul de sac neighbors to join us at the beach for the 4th.  The Quillins and the Adams arrived in time for the parade.

The kids got ready for the parade by making a visit to the fire work stand in town.  Their purchases included some sparklers, a gnome rubber ducky and some patriotic necklaces.

They also bought temporary tattoos for all the kids.

We staked out our spot along the parade route. It was windy but not too cold.  Jim and Declan played catch.

The parade was fun as usual.  Always love it when the flag comes by.

I think this car should come home with me!

There were lots of fun characters in the parade.

And even a float that you could shoot baskets up on to!

After the parade we went back to the house for some lunch.  We barbequed hamburgers and hot dogs and had lots of other good food too.

 We have the best neighbors!!

At the Beach

We have had amazing weather this week at the beach.  We lucked out having beautiful bonfire weather both Sunday night and Monday night.  That means it is clear, warm and not windy!  We took full advantage of it by building fires both nights.

Of course we had to have some fun playing in the sunset and taking photos.

Grandma and Grandpa joined us down on the beach too.

Nothing feels better than barefeet in the sand.
And we got some fun family shots too.

Only A Stroll

On Sunday afternoon some of us decided to go for a hike.  We went to a place that is only 10 minutes from the house in Oswald West State Park out to Cape Falcon.  Jim and I hiked there last fall too.  I told everyone it was only a stroll - not a hard hike at all.

Debbie and Hannah decided to join Jim,. Logan, Cali. Clark and I.

Well I guess my memory is failing me.  It wasn't a hard hike but it wasn't a stroll either.  The other problem was that the path was so muddy!  Really muddy!

Let's just say the white part of our shoes was no longer white when we got done but there were some pretty views to look at along the muddy trail

Oh and did I mention it was muddy!?
