Mariners vs. Orioles - Memorial Day

The Mariners were playing the Baltimore Orioles on Monday. The weather was perfect for baseball watching.  Jim got us tickets that weren't in the nose bleed section(where we usually sit) so I could actually see what was going on.

And I didn't even read my book during the game - I watched the game!  It is much more fun to watch when you are up close. We totally enjoyed the sunshine and soaking in some vitamin D!

One great thing about Safeco Field is they have good food.  Tessa had to have a hot dog.

and I got my favorite - Cookies & Cream Dip n' Dots!
It was a fun afternoon.  As soon as the game was over we headed home because Tessa had a study group to work with that night.  Traffic was great so we were home by 7 p.m.!

Memorial Day - Seattle

For Memorial Day we decided to make a day trip to Seattle.  The  Mariner's just happen to be playing in town at 1:00 p.m. .  We headed up to Seattle about 8:30 a.m. and got there in time to enjoy lunch on the pier at Ivar's before the game.  Of course there was some major seagull feeding activity going on.

We enjoyed fish and chips and some clam chowder for lunch

Tessa was not quite sure about the whole seagull feeding thing.
Dad showed the girls how to do it.

Jim gets fancy with some two fisted feeding.
After lunch Tessa and I headed to a vintage clothing shop we like in Seattle.  She is looking for a dress for graduation.  She found a cute 70's dress that only needs a little alteration and it was only $34.00!

Jim and Cali decided to go down to the Market and walk around a bit.  They bought Tessa a pretty bouquet of yellow flowers for graduation.  Of course there lots of beautiful flowers at the market as usual!

Jim and Cali walked down to Safeco Field to meet us there - They found James street on the way there!

and they found this amazing mural painted on the side of a building!

Portland Timbers

Jim got an early Father's Day present from the 3 girls.  Tickets to a Portland Timbers game (soccer team)
Soccer has taken Portland by storm and all the games are usually sold out.  Tickets were a bit expensive so we just sent the three of them and I enjoyed some quiet time at home.  Since parking is bad down by the stadium I drove them down and dropped them off and then they took the MAX back and I picked them up at the station.  It was fun watching all the fans get off the train - they were all decked out in their Timber gear and the big thing was - scarves.  They all wore timber scraves.

They had a great time even though it was a bit drizzly and cold.

It was a good game and the Timbers won 1 - 0
