OK - so I keep a running list of things I'm glad I did once but I don't ever need to do again. I just added another one.... (others on the list include participating in a Youth Pioneer Trek, rafting the Deschutes River etc.)
Add to that list - attending a midnight movie Premiere! Yes, I was one of thousands, probably millions of females - and may I add quite a few males who went to the midnight showing of Twilight last night. (Just in case you are wondering - No - Jim did not go with us!)
Staying up until 2:30 a.m. in the morning is WAY out of the norm for me - I am not a night owl and basically don't function after eleven o'clock at night.
So staying awake through the movie was quite an accomplish for me - ok - so I did nod off once but just for a second!
It was a fun mother/daughter bonding experience but now that we've done it once I feel no need to ever do it again. I have no problems with waiting a day or two to see a movie!! And besides that eating movie theater popcorn and Sour Patch Watermelon slices that late at night is just not good for you!
Since Jim was planniing on getting up at 5:00 a.m. to play racquetball I decided to sleep in Cali's room so the alarm wouldn't wake me up two hours after getting to bed. Your bed is very comfortable Cali except no one bothered to reset your clock after Daylight Savings so I got up a whole hour before I had too!
I let Tessa sleep in too and go to school just in the afternoon.
So what did I think of the movie - I enjoyed it but think that some things just don't transition that well to the big screen and I think vampires are one of them! It was a bit cheesy in parts and I actually laughed out loud several times when I don't think it was meant to be funny.
I hated Edward's hair and it really distracted me through the whole movie and Carlisle was just way TOO pale!!
It was fun to see someone we knew in the movie - the sister of Tessa's ballet car pool buddy is one of the volleyball players.
Overall - I give the movie a 6 1/2!

You are useless after 11:00pm? You put your PJ's on at 8:30pm!
I may have my jammies on but I'm still functioning!! I just like to be comfy!
I would like to remind you that you have another daughter that may want to bond with you just the same way, are you really going to let her down? :) I am grateful that I get to wait more than a few days to see that one. What else is on that list of yours, I would be interested to see if any of ours are the same!
